Day
Care 0-5
The
childcare centre is staffed by teachers, nursery nurses
and trained assistants, our ratios are higher than those
required by the Children Act Regulations to ensure children
have the opportunity for individual attention and continuity
of care.
Each
day we offer children a range of sensory experiences.
Sensory play is both relaxing and therapeutic,
giving opportunity for muscles and senses to be
stimulated and stretched. It is often the time
when children can express their true emotions.
Through
sensory play, children can use their senses to
learn about their environment and connect with
what they already know. They can explore language
associated with materials and their use and become
confident in their physical skills. |

Mealtimes
are seen as a valuable and social experience for
all, promotion of independence is paramount. The
children are encouraged to select where they sit.
Menus are varied to give children the opportunity
to taste a variety of flavours and textures. Meals
are balanced to meet the nutritional needs of
young children. Children are offered alternatives
to dessert, fresh fruit and vegetables are available
daily, and there is unlimited access to a spring
water dispenser. |

senses and understanding. The treasure basket
is a practical way to assemble a collection
of such objects and make them available to the
children. |

It
is important that children spend time outside
in the fresh air, our babies enjoy going for
walks in buggies and the toddlers using wrist

Pre-School
Foundation Stage Curriculum (3-6 Years)
At
approximately three years your child will move into
the pre-school group. The centre is inspected and
approved by OFSTED for the delivery of the Early Years
curriculum. Qualified teachers are employed to assist
with the co-ordination of curriculum planning with
the 3-5 year olds. Our aim is to provide the children
with a sound educational grounding and to ensure that
they enter school happy and confident.
The
children follow the National Foundation Stage
Curriculum which is for children aged 3-6 years.
It covers all aspects of your child's development
including personal, social and emotional development,
communication, language and literacy, mathematics,
creativity development, physical development
and knowledge and understanding of the world. |
|
 |
Each
3-5 year old has an individual record of achievement,
covering all six curriculum areas, which is available
to parents at all times. Further information about
the curriculum is also available, as is a copy of
our most recent OFSTED report.
