Terms & Conditions

By registering a place with us, you commit to abiding by our Policies and Procedures and Terms and Conditions.  We reserve the right to cancel the Childcare Contract with one month’s notice if the signatory fails to ensure compliance.

A registration fee of £35 must be received before a childcare place is confirmed

The minimum acceptable booking is  for 2 sessions a week

All fees are invoiced monthly, collected by Direct Debit and are due in advance on the first working day of the month.  Any fees not received by this date will incur a late payment charge of £2 per working day.

If your child is absent due to  sickness, the nursery should be notified.  Refunds or reductions are not available for absence.

A holiday rebate of 40% will be given if holidays are notified to the Admin Department by the 19th of the preceding month.

Puffins of Exeter Ltd is open throughout the year, only closing for bank and public holidays and a week at Christmas.  No charge is made on these days.

If your child becomes ill at nursery a member of staff will contact you or the emergency contact. Exclusion periods apply for illness as set out in the Parent Handbook.

Four weeks written notice is required to end your child’s place.

Parents accept that Puffins is required to abide by the Welfare Requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage

In order to maintain our high level of security we ask parents not to divulge door entry codes, give entry cards to third parties or hold open doors for unknown visitors.

Staff who are found to have been employed as a private Nanny within 3 months of them or the child leaving will be treated as an agency employment and parents will be required to pay agency fees to Puffins of Exeter Ltd. The amount will be calculated at a £300 introduction fee and 5% of the annual salary of the Nanny.

Puffins of Exeter Ltd withhold the right to cancel any contract with families who do not cooperate with the Company Policies & Procedures, or Early Years Foundation Stage requirements, four weeks  notice will be given.

Puffins of Exeter Ltd operates a zero tolerance policy and will cancel the contract with any family who harass or intimidate any of the Company’s employees.

In circumstances where the nursery is affected by unexpected events, such as extreme weather, a disaster recovery plan will be implemented and pre-arranged alternative premises will be provided. There will be no refund for families who choose not to accept this alternative.

Late fees will be charged for any  child not collected by 6pm at the rate of £15 plus £5 per 10mins.

I understand that photographs and video footage of the children is recorded and used for observation, assessment and training purposes, and displays, and consent to my child being photographed and videoed.

I understand personal information is kept about my child in line with the Welfare Requirements. This information will only be shared with necessary staff for the purposes of providing appropriate care for your child. Records are kept once children have left in line with Local Authority guidelines. When children are in receipt of additional funding, such as the Early Years Grant or Childcare Tax Credits, data may also be shared with third parties as necessary, all of whom carry their own Data Protection Statements.
